De Dijk is a dutch band from Amsterdam, which has been making dutch pop music since the early eighties. Their style can be described as a mix of soul, blues and rock. The group is named after the Zeedijk street in Amsterdam. Although the band has been active since 1981, their first album wasn't released until 1987. Before the name "De Dijk" came into view the band was known as "Stampij".
